CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

Suspicious movement is a dangerous movement and can be regarded as a criminal movement if you are in places you don’t suppose to be. So, watch your movements.

 

REPORTING SUSPICIOUS MOVEMENT 

Reporting suspicious movement or suspicious movement report is a statement that details who or what you saw, when you saw it, where it occurred and why it is suspicious. A report on suspicious movement are used as tools to prevent dangers or investigate crime in our community.

 

WHO TO REPORT SUSPICIOUS MOVEMENT TO? 

A suspicious movement can be reported to anyone depending on the place and time you suspected any movement. For example – you can report a suspicious movement,

1. To your teachers (if you are in the school).

2. To your parents (if you are at home).

3. To your neighbours (if your parents are not at home).

4. To the appropriate authority such as the community chairman or any of the excos, local or community security guard, neighbourhood security (as in Lagos State), nearest police station, available police officer, etc.

5. At a event such naming, wedding, etc. suspicion movement should be reported to whom it may concern. For example, the event security personnel or the organizer.

 

 

LESSON 2 – HOW TO REPORT SUSPICIOUS MOVEMENT

If you see suspicious movement, report it to the law enforcement and describe specifically what you observed. These are summarized in 5Ws. The 5Ws are what to include in your report,

1st W – Who or what you saw? Male or Female

2nd W – When you saw it? Around 12 noon

3rd W – Where it occurred? At the gate

4th – Why it’s Suspicious? Because he is peeping through the school gate.

5th W – Why it is suspicious? Because he examine the gate padlock.

 

 

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST) 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson based on what he/she has taught or what the pupils have learned.

2. Teacher organizes pupils in groups or pairs depending on the size of the class and available instructional materials.

3. Teacher uses a story of reported or unreported suspicious movement to introduce and leads a class discussion on reporting suspicious movement.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction and participate actively in the class discussion on reporting suspicious movement.

4. Teacher asks pupils to state what to do when they notice any strange movements in their compound or at the window?

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils give appropriate respond such as who is there, who are you, report to parents, shout, etc.

5. Teacher guides pupils to state appropriate people to report suspected movements to.

6. Teacher leads a class discussion on how to report give report of suspicious movement.
