ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils already know how to describe people and things using adjectives. This lesson will help them use those descriptive words in writing an essay.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

A descriptive essay is a piece of writing that describes a person, place, animal, or thing in detail. It helps the reader form a clear picture of what is being described.

When writing about a best friend, we describe the person’s appearance, character, and the things we like about him or her.

1. DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY: MY BEST FRIEND

My best friend is Chidi. He is a kind, honest, and hardworking boy. We are in the same class and we study together every day.

Chidi is tall and cheerful. He is always willing to help others. He shares his books with me and encourages me to do my school work.

I like Chidi because he is friendly and respectful. We play together during break time and help each other with our assignments.

I am happy to have Chidi as my best friend because he is a good friend and a wonderful person.

2. DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY: MY BEST FRIEND

My best friend is Aisha. She is a friendly and intelligent girl. We are classmates and we sit together in class.

Aisha is neat, hardworking, and respectful. She always completes her assignments on time and helps other pupils when they have difficulties.

During break time, we play games and share our snacks. I enjoy spending time with her because she is kind and cheerful.

I like Aisha very much because she is honest and caring. She is truly my best friend.

My best friend is Emeka. He is a tall and cheerful boy. We have been friends for many years.
