By the end of the lesson, most pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. identify different activities in the computer room.

2. state things found in a computer room.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify and describe a computer room and also, state the uses of computer room.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of functional computer system and chart showing a computer room.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons. Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION (COMPUTER ROOM) 

A computer room is a room where we keep our computers and other devices such as internet access, scanners, and printers.

The computers and other devices kept in a computer room are used for different things.

 

ACTIVITIES IN THE COMPUTER ROOM 

There are many activities we can do with computer systems that are in a computer room. Start from learning and demonstrating what you have learnt. In a computer room, we do the following:

 

1. Learning the uses of computer.

2. Demonstrating the uses of computers.

3. Playing computer games.

4. Take learning online.

5. Doing assignments or homework.

6. Typing

7. Scanning

8. Printing

9. Listening to music.

10. Watching educational video.

11. Programming

 

LESSON 2 – THINGS FOUND IN A COMPUTER ROOM 

A computer room contains many things such as,

1. A chair

2. A desk

3. Fan

4. Electric light

5. Air conditioning

6. Charts

7. Whiteboard

8. Stationary

9. Projector

10. Internet devices

11. Cabinet

 

12. Computer system – monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner, CPU, UPS, stabilizer, speaker, computer microphone, etc.

13. CD/DVD and other storage devices

 

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT 

As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation. 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups or pair depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher displays a chart showing different activities in a computer.

4. Teacher lets the pupils examine, identify and discuss each activity on the charts.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify and discuss each activity on the charts.

5. Teacher uses the charts and the pupils relevant responses to introduce the lesson – Activities In A Computer Room.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the lesson discussion on the activities in a computer room.

6. Teacher leads a class discussion on the activities in a computer room.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the class discussion and appreciate different activities that are carried out in a computer room.

7. Teacher uses charts showing different things that can be found in a computer room to lead the pupils to identify and state their uses.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify, discuss and appreciate the importance of different things in a computer room.

 

8. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board with appropriate evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding correctly to most of the questions write as instructed.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
