CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION KITCHEN EQUIPMENT 

Kitchen equipment is the larger appliances and machinery use in the kitchenwhich include stoves, ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and microwaves. These items are mostly fixed installations and are essential for cooking, storing food, and cleaning.

 

USES OF KITCHEN EQUIPMENT 

Some common kitchen equipment includes:

1. Oven is used for baking, roasting, and broiling food.

2. Stove is used for cooking food on a range or cooktop.

3. Refrigerator is used for storing perishable food items and keeping them cool.

4. Microwave is used for quickly heating or cooking food using microwaves.

5. Blender is used for blending or pureeing ingredients to make smoothies, soups, or sauces.

6. Toaster is used for toasting bread or other bread-based products.

7. Food processor is used for chopping, slicing, and shredding ingredients quickly and efficiently.

8. Coffee Maker is used for brewing coffee or other hot beverages.

9. Dishwasher is used for cleaning dishes, utensils, and other kitchenware.

10. Slow Cooker/Crockpot is used for slow-cooking food over a long period of time.

11. Mixer is used for mixing and beating ingredients together, commonly used in baking.

16. Utensils is a cooking tools such as spoons, spatulas, tongs, and whisks used for various cooking tasks.

17. Baking sheets and pans is used for baking cookies, cakes, or other baked goods.

18. Mixing bowls is used for mixing ingredients together for recipes.

19. Meat thermometer is used for checking the internal temperature of meats to ensure they are cooked properly.

1. Spatula is used for flipping or turning food while cooking.

2. Mixing spoon is used for stirring and mixing ingredients.

3. Whisk is used for beating and mixing ingredients, especially in baking.

4. Tongs is used for gripping and turning food while cooking.

5. Ladle is used for serving soups, stews, and sauces.

6. Slotted spoon is used for scooping solid foods while leaving liquid behind.

7. Grater is used for grating or shredding food items like cheese or vegetables.

8. Peeler is used for peeling the skin off fruits and vegetables.
