PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

  1. state the uses of water.
  2. enumerate the importance of water.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  1. Charts and pictures showing usefulness of water.
  2. Water work.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTION 

Water is the liquid that descends from the clouds as rain, forms streams, lakes, and seas.

 

USES OF WATER 

Water are used for –

  1. Drinking
  2. Cooking
  3. Washing

 

IMPORTANCE OF WATER 

  1. It supports life – man, animals and plants.
  2. It is important for digestion.
  3. It is important for washing out dirty in the body.
  4. It is important for proper blood circulation.

 

POEM ABOUT WATER 

Get a suitable poem on water.

 

 

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Takes pupils on a tour of nearby river,water work, etc.
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Visit and observe a nearby source of water or public water work.
  4. Leads pupils to recite a poem on the usefulness of water.
  5. Pupil’s Activities – Recite a poem about water

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
