CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
Health refers to the condition of being physically, mentally, and socially well.
Safety means being protected from danger, injury, or accidents.
To stay healthy and safe, we need to learn and use words associated with health and safety.
READING PASSAGE: HEALTH AND SAFETY
Staying Safe and Healthy
Tunde was playing football with his friends in the school field when he fell and injured his leg. His teacher quickly gave him first aid and called an ambulance. Tunde was taken to the hospital where a doctor examined him and a nurse helped to care for him.
The doctor gave Tunde some medicine and advised him to rest. He also reminded Tunde about the importance of safety. He explained that pupils should wear protective equipment when necessary and avoid dangerous activities.
Tunde learned that good hygiene, proper medical care, and following safety rules help people stay healthy and avoid accidents. He promised to be more careful and always practise safety measures.
