By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and be able to:

1. observe and identify the organ of sight;

2. state the important of the eyes as the organ of sight.

3. draw sense of sight.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

Coloured pencils and crayon.

Wooden blocks of different sizes, shapes and colours.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Dances and asks the pupils, what am I doing?

Pupil’s Response – You are dancing.

Teacher’s response – How do you know that?

Pupil’s Activities – We can see you dancing?

Teacher’s remark – We see with our eyes. If we close our eyes, can we see any? NO. GOOD. We see with our eyes call sense of sight.

 

THE SENSE OF SIGHT (EYES)

The organ for the sense of sight is called the eyes.

We see shapes, distance, movement, color, heat and depth with our sense of sight…

We see different things within and around. I can see you, you can see me.

 

 

LESSON EVALUATION/ASSIGNMENT

Find out 10 other things we can see with our eyes.

 

LESSON TWO – THE IMPORTANT OF THE EYES AS THE ORGAN OF SIGHT 

The eyes are very important because we use our eyes to see.

 

DRAW SENSE OF SIGHT 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Discusses with the pupils, eyes as a sense of sigh.

Pupil’s Activities – Observe and identify the organ of sight;

3. Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Discuss the important of the eyes as the organ of sight.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
