CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION (WHO IS A STRANGER?

A stranger is someone you have not see or met before. When two people meet for the first time, both of them are strangers to one another. A stranger is also called newcomer, unknown person, foreigner, etc. A stranger can a good or bad person. Irrespective, be careful with people you don’t know.

There are a lot of strangers in our neighbourhood as hawkers, scavengers, beggars, new neighbours, etc. They are people we see on the street, meet in the market, shop, school, party, on social media, etc. that we don’t know.

 

FACTS ABOUT A STRANGER

1. Anyone you don’t know is a stranger.

2. Anyone you have never met them before is a stranger.

3. A stranger can be anyone. For example, a stranger can a man, woman or child.

4. You cannot tell if someone is good just by looking at them.

5. Some strangers are always not kind.

6. Some strangers pretend to be nice.

7. Don’t be fooled by their actions or kindness, just stay away.

 

 

LESSON 2 – PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES WHEN DEALING WITH STRANGERS  

1. Don’t go out with people you don’t know.

2. Don’t collect sweet, biscuits, money or gift from a stranger.

3. Don’t enter a stranger car.

4. Don’t answer the person you don’t know.

5. Don’t play in the dark.

6. Always stay with your friends and family.

7. Don’t allow a stranger to come into the house.

 

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT – As stated in the performance objectives or lesson evaluation.

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps – he/she,

1. Revises the previous lesson based on the pupil’s related knowledge or experience.

2. Teacher organizes the pupils in group depending on the size of class.

3. Teacher displays chart showing familiar and unfamiliar people.

3. Teacher lets the pupils examine the chart and ask them to identify the people.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify those they know. That’s, I (we) know these people and other, I (we) don’t know them.

4. Teacher uses the chart and the pupil’s relevant responses to introduce the lesson and leads a class discussion on the meaning of stranger.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils listen and pay attention to the lesson introduction and participate actively in the class discussion on the concept of a stranger.

5. Teacher states facts about a stranger and leads a class discuss about the facts stated.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the class discussion facts about a stranger.

6. Teacher leads, discuss and demonstrates the precautionary measures when dealing with the strangers.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils as groups demonstrate state and discuss precautionary measures when dealing with the strangers.

7. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board using appropriate lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary by responding correctly to the questions and write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
